In 1996 Polopoly’s core technology team developed a ground breaking multi-channel publishing platform for Dagens Nyheter, Scandinavia’s largest morning daily. Since then we have taken great pride in working hand in hand with our media clients and expanded the use of our platform to incorporate all of today’s media channels.
The platform
The Polopoly system makes it easy to handle all your digital content. We offer a standard system that is simple to use, yet flexible and very powerful. Some of the most high-traffic web sites in Europe have their roots in the Polopoly platform.
The foundation of the platform is Polopoly Content Manager which manages and publishes all your digital content, and Polopoly Relationship Manager, which caters to the most advanced personalization and statistics requirements.

The technology
Performance and openness are cornerstones of the software development at Polopoly, and therefore, all Polopoly products are developed entirely in Java.
Polopoly offers support for Enterprise Java Beans, EJB, for flexibility in terms of development and implementation of new functionality.
All modules use open and well-known communication standards like RMI, JMS and XML. They work with any operating system, any Java environment and any database that supports JDBC.

Having worked in close collaboration with some of the most advanced and demanding digital publishers in the world from the very start, Polopoly has managed to create an interface that really can suit anyone. We still adhere to our original credence; it must allow easy and rapid publishing without limiting more advanced users.
Occasional users will find basic publishing to be quick and intuitive, while more advanced users will appreciate the near limitless flexibility. Using the latest in AJAX techniques, any limitations in the completely browser based user interface have been overcome. Changing page layouts can now be carried out using simple drag-and-drop, and usage metrics can be easily presented in context.
