Multi-channel publishing

Polopoly is very much about multi-channel publishing, i.e. supplying the same content in different output format. That could be anything from publishing to different media, such as PDA, mobile telephones and television, or just a simple thing like redesigning your website, affecting all content already there.

These features all require a separation of content from style and navigation. Polopoly stores content and formatting separately. The format is added “live” from the template, while the content is cached in the Polopoly cache. Thus, the template is responsible for storing format/style and the content is stored independently. This makes it very easy to implement new digital channels, even channels that have yet to be invented.
