The newspaper was founded on June 5, 1951. O Dia is one of the most important publications of the country and one of the markets leaders in the state of Rio de Janeiro.
Since 2009 o Dia joined the EJESA group, along with the publication Brasil Econômico.
The publication has a circulation average of 137,000 copies that reach the entire state of Rio de Janeiro.
