Nürnberger Presse is one of the larger German publishing houses and publishes the daily newspaper Nürnberger Nachrichten with various side editions and issues further local editions in cooperation with regional newspaper publishers. Within the group also the Nürnberger Zeitung appears. The area of circulation includes the whole of Middle and adjacent areas of Upper Franconia and the Upper Palatinate.
nordbayern.de, as the group’s umbrella brand of all online publishing activities has become the second basic medium in the region, and today reaches around a quarter of all households per month.
While using Atex Content H-series to produce the print editions of the newspaper titles since 2002, in 2010 the group went live with its relaunched web-presence nordbayern.de based on the Atex Web-CMS Polopoly. The implemented solution integrates print and online workflows and allows for cross media news content reuse.
One of our goals was the close cooperation of print and online. The integration with the Atex editorial system we already use for the print production allows the print editors to put their content directly online and thus permits us to introduce modern convergent ways of working.
