Digital Leadership
As publishers around the world evolve into multimedia information providers – collecting, authoring and disseminating content in a variety of printed and online forms – Atex continues to expand our vision as we lead and support customers toward the next digital horizon.
Atex has a 35-year heritage of continuous innovation and technology leadership. From our early days of minicomputer-based publishing systems; to the adoption of desktop tools as integrated components for reporters, editors and advertising salespeople; to the next generation of web services and rich internet applications for collaboration, community and customer self-service, Atex is proud of our position as the largest supplier of technology solutions to the global media industry.
In 2006, Atex made a bold decision regarding the company’s digital software development strategy. All new software developed or integrated by Atex will – wherever feasible – conform to Service Oriented Architectures (SOA). The SOA model enables lightweight development, where software and services from different sources can be combined in a predictable, standards-based manner to provide true integration and openness. Web Services allow the re-use of software components within a single system. They are portable, interoperable and not tied to any one supplier or operating platform. That is precisely why they are useful and why Atex is committed to SOA.
For Atex customers, one of the key benefits of our SOA technology is the ability to respond quicker and more effectively to unique requirements. In this fast-changing digital age, Atex customers demand unprecedented agility and flexibility in order to respond to new opportunities and competitive threats. With SOA, the time needed to implement a software change is reduced, which allows media companies react rapidly to changing market conditions.
At Atex, we are poised for further growth and consolidation, and we remain passionately committed to a 100% customer-centric roadmap based around continued digital investment and innovation.
