Atex COO Alan Reardon promoted to Group CEO

26 July 2010 Reading, UK— Atex today announces the appointment of Alan Reardon as Group Chief Executive Officer.

Reardon joined Atex in 2003 as Group COO and has been instrumental in the company’s rejuvenation and successful merger of recent acquisitions. His expertise has also helped Atex solidify its position as the global leading supplier of software and services for media-rich industries.

Reardon has more than 30 years’ experience in the creation and delivery of business critical software solutions to some of the most prestigious blue-chip clients worldwide.  Prior to joining Atex, he spent over 20 years in the manufacturing sector, working in positions of increasing responsibility. Throughout his career, Reardon’s focused has been on providing packaged client solutions designed to make a real business difference by increasing revenues, reducing cost and maximising return at lowest risk.

“In 2003, it was quite a revelation to leave an industry where packaged software was the norm, and to join the media industry where major publishers were still entrenched in complex project implementations and customised solutions,” says Reardon. “I am pleased this has now changed with the fierce demand for instant results forcing transformation and focus on business benefits. As a result of my involvement in the media industry, I fully appreciate what deadlines and 24x7 business critical solutions really mean to our business.”

Since its acquisition of Polopoly in 2008, Atex has strengthened its position as a media industry leader in the Web content management and advertising market by doubling its digital sales in 2009.

Reardon and his management team are driving Atex’s vision of becoming the premier solutions provider to the media and content-intensive industries. He believes that the combination of Atex’s 37-year history coupled with its market-leading Polopoly software platform is a unique combination of practical know-how and digital innovation. “Atex is best positioned to support media clients in their successful digital transformations,” Reardon continues. “Our mission is to be passionately focused on the future and to bring Atex’s digital innovation capabilities to clients who are entering the digital phase with their content management, advertising and commercial activities.”
