Atex Web Content Management system goes live at eight global media companies
Reading, UK — From daily newspapers in Dubai, New York, Stockholm and Brazil, to an online directory publisher in Milan, a major German broadcast company, and a new high school sports website, Atex has successfully completed eight new go-lives of its Polopoly Web Content Management system during the months of September and October. These media companies represent the latest implementations of the Atex Polopoly Web publishing and content creation platform, showcasing the system’s ability to serve diverse, innovative, and highly scalable Web CMS environments around the globe.
The recent go-lives include:
Newsday, a leading daily newspaper reaching more than 70 percent of the adults on Long Island, New York, is live on the Atex Web CMS for its websites, Newsday.com and exploreli.com. These sites serve millions of visitors throughout New York and the nation with up-to-the-second news, information, and advertising.
MSG Varsity, a multi-platform suite of services catering to high school sports and activities is using the Atex Web CMS platform to support its comprehensive online website, msgvarsity.com. Both Newsday and MSG Varsity are owned and operated by Cablevisions Systems Corporation, a major telecommunications, media, and entertainment company.
SevenOne Intermedia, the multimedia branch of the German media company ProSiebenSat.1 Group, is live with the Atex Web CMS at Prosieben.de, the website for one of Germany’s most successful TV stations. The website, which will also have Swiss and Austrian versions, accumulated more than 325 million page views and 133 million page impressions in the month of September.
Dubai-based Gulf News, in the United Arab Emirates, is live on the Atex Web CMS. Gulf News, which also uses Atex content P-Series for its editorial operations, is published by Al Nisr Publishing LLC, and is the largest English language newspaper in the region with an average daily circulation of 124,380 readers.
Göteborgs-Posten launched its gp.se website on the Atex Web CMS platform in October. Göteborgs-Posten is West Sweden’s largest morning newspaper reaching 630,000 readers/visitors through its print publication and website. The newspaper has been running the Polopoly Web CMS since 2001, and this implementation is part of the Stampen Group’s migration to the MktWeb platform based on the latest Atex Polopoly software release.
Italian media company AGI implemented the Atex Web CMS to create new communication models and form the basis of a new portal on environmental sustainability, delivering a reliable platform, fast time to market and high quality results. The first website, sceltesostenibili.it, was deployed under the Atex Software as a Service (SaaS) model. AGI plans to roll out additional websites in the coming months and has contracted with Atex to provide all the hosting and managed services for these sites.
SEAT Pagine Gialle, a global provider of multi-channel advertising and communication tools, is live on the Atex Polopoly Web CMS for its customer websites and micro-sites, called “visual sites”, serving online directories of database information for 15 million households and 3.8 millions businesses.
“SEAT Pagine Gialle gains a great advantage in our market by choosing Atex Polopoly,” said Romolo Velati, Head of Internet Technical & Infrastructure Department. “The efficiency of Polopoly assures a constant and immediate monitoring of all the content in the database. At the same time it considerably reduces processing and updating time. With its innovative architecture and graphics, Polopoly also allows our customers and users to easily access information. The incredible flexibility of this system will allow us to reduce set-up and maintenance expenses too.”
Finally, Hoje em Dia, a popular daily newspaper in Brazil, is using Atex’s Web CMS for its website www.hojeemdia.com.br.
“As media companies look to build digital revenues through greater integration of editorial and highly relevant advertising content, as well as to establish new subscriber payment models and premium content initiatives, Atex is pleased to be chosen again and again as the vendor partner of choice for both print and Web content management,” says Peter Marsh, Atex Head of Global Product Management. “The Atex Polopoly Web CMS is the hub of our DNA One product portfolio, and its robustness, flexibility and scalability is evident from these recent go-lives at so many prestigious and high-volume websites around the world.”
