Atex expands into Turkey with deployment of Prestige at Hürriyet Gazetecilik ve Matbaacilik A.Ş. All Turkish and English language publications will be managed in a single implementation. Hürriyet KEYiF supplements are live on Prestige since start of December 2008
ISTANBUL, Turkey - Atex announces that Hürriyet Gazetecilik ve Matbaacilik A.Ş has chosen the Atex Prestige Content Management System to produce Hürriyet and the Turkish Daily News (English publication) and their various other publications, including Reference and 20dk. In addition KEYiF supplements have been live and operational since the start of December 2008. The system will support 350 journalists and production staff for the Hürriyet operation in Istanbul.
Hürriyet, the most prestigious newspaper in Turkey – which recently celebrated its 60th anniversary, has chosen to implement Prestige to simplify the planning process, enhance their workflow process and track the production of pages on a daily basis. Prestige will also provide the users with simple tools that allow controlled last minute edits throughout a complex editions structure.
“Following an extensive evaluation of the market we have selected Atex as our strategic partner; we believe that Prestige is the best solution on the market for handling our requirements. The product, and its architecture, fits perfectly with our current and future needs, said Ahmet Dalman, CIO and Muhsin Atamer Öcal Technical Manager at Hürriyet. “We were impressed with the quality of the offering, Atex’s business and technical expertise and importantly to us, their global presence in the publishing industry.”
The system will fully support the production of both Turkish language papers, which includes Hürriyet, Reference and 20dk, as well as the English publication, Turkish Daily News in one single environment. The installation includes the full Prestige communications package that will handle all incoming wires for text and pictures and an implementation of the ClassWizard Pagination and Planning system, which provides integration to their existing advertising system.
“This project is very important for Atex. We are very happy to enter into the Turkish markets with such a prominent customer as Hürriyet. For us this is an excellent opportunity to show that we can handle large complex publishers with both English and local language support throughout our product range” commented David Hall, CEO of Atex NEMEA.
