Aquila announced today that it has completed the acquisition of Laidback Solutions AB (“Laidback”) through its subsidiary Atex Media Limited (“Atex”).

Founded in 2002, Laidback has focused on developing and delivering flexible and efficient production software solutions for the media industry. Today, Laidback products are used in 20 different countries by media groups and corporate publishers.

Daniel Lee, CEO of Aquila, added, “Within their category, Laidback is a leader in the Nordics and a natural fit with our existing product portfolio and customer base. The acquisition is a step forward for Aquila as we continue to grow our position in the global media vertical.”

“We are excited to welcome the Laidback team,” said Federico Marturano, CEO of Atex. “With their dominant position and reputation in Sweden, this acquisition allows Atex to extend our leadership in the Nordics. The Laidback products complement our existing portfolio very well and solidify Atex as a one-stop shop for publishers. We look forward to working closely with the Laidback team and their customer base.”

Pär Andersson, CEO of Laidback, noted “Joining Atex will certainly give Laidback the strength to evolve and grow our business. We already have lots of common customers and our solutions are integrated so this will be a perfect match.”

With a permanent-hold worldview to acquisitions, Aquila looks forward to being a forever home for Laidback’s employees, clients, and partners. Laidback will operate under the existing Advertising business unit of Atex.
