Collaboration between journalists on the field and editorial teams just got a major upgrade. The Atex AI Lab has developed a brand-new WhatsApp agent designed to streamline how journalists can send news to the newsroom. With no apps to download or platforms to learn, journalists in the field can now send stories directly through WhatsApp, and the content appears instantly in the newsroom CMS, ready for editing and publication.

How Does it Work?

Journalists can send plain text messages — ideal for article drafts or urgent updates. They can also record voice messages, which are automatically transcribed using AI.  Photos, videos, and other media files can be uploaded directly through the chat.

All content is instantly ingested into the newsroom’s CMS, neatly organized and tagged.  Editors receive a real-time notification and can immediately access the submitted material.

The agent supports multiple languages, making it adaptable to local and international newsrooms.

The result? A streamlined workflow that cuts out the middle steps — no more digging through email chains, Slack threads, or third-party platforms. Everything lives in one place, exactly where it needs to be.

For journalists, it means more time focusing on the story. For editors, it means cleaner handoffs and faster publishing. And for newsrooms, it means a smarter, more agile operation that can respond to events as they unfold.

Why Use Atex AI’s WhatsApp Agent?

  • Makes it easier for contributors to send content on the go
  • Centralizes incoming news material, avoiding scattered emails and chat threads
